‘Don’t like liars’: GOP-group doesn’t want you to forget the grift and greed in 2024

The 2020 presidential election isn’t really even behind us yet, but some people are already looking to 2024. Never-Trump Super PAC, The Lincoln Project, rolled out a new ad reminding viewers of who is likely to make a run on the GOP side.

  • Marco Rubio
  • Ted Cruz
  • Josh Hawley
  • Tom Cotton
  • Mike Lee
  • Nikki Haley

TLP doesn’t want anyone to forget the transgressions of those who may seek the Republican nomination.

“Call them whatever you like, but don’t call them leaders”

Marco Rubio

At one time, Marco Rubio called Trump “the biggest scam in American political history,” but after that scam took the Oval Office, Rubio was his best bud. The Florida senator defended Trump’s perfect Ukraine call and his dealings with China. You can even find Rubio yukking it up at a MAGA rally or two.

Texas Senator Ted Cruz used to think Donald Trump was “utterly amoral” and a “sniveling coward.” However, once Trump was in power, Cruz lost his spine — he even forgave the disparaging comments about his wife and father. He loudly supported the president during the impeachment process.

Josh Hawley

Josh Hawley giving a speech

Senator Josh Hawley loves to rant about “coastal elites” while representing the state of Missouri. But…according to the Kansas City Star, Hawley doesn’t currently own a home in Missouri, he is using his sister’s address. He does, however, own a $1.3 million house in Northern Virginia. Huh. A million-dollar home is rather elite…and Virginia is on the coast.

Hawley is attempting to play the “regular Joe” card, but he is mostly just full of hot air.

Tom Cotton

Arkansas Senator Tom Cotton has not been afraid to let his racist flag fly. From calling slavery  “a necessary evil” to furthering systemic racism, Cotton has stayed in the news cycle. The senator has made it his crusade to keep the NYT’s 1619 project out of school curriculum.

Mike Lee

After the VP debate, Mike Lee stayed up late to give everyone a Twitter lesson in how the U.S. is not a democracy saying, “Democracy isn’t the objective.” It didn’t go over well.

Many saw it as “an attempt to rationalize Republican attempts to suppress the vote.”

Nikki Haley

Trump’s former UN Ambassador Nikki Haley may have the Oval Office in her sights as well. This is the same Nikki Haley that sent classified information using her unsecured personal phone because she forgot her password.

Haley also made the mistake of trying to come for AOC on Twitter. It did not go well.

The Lincoln Project has it right. None of these people should be called leaders.
