Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman was dismissed from the National Security Council and escorted out of the White House Friday afternoon.
During the Impeachment inquiry, Vindman reported “inappropriate” pressure on Ukraine to investigate Joe Biden, saying that, “Without hesitation, I knew that I had to report this to the White House counsel.”
BREAKING NEWS: Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman will be informed in the coming days, likely on Friday, by administration officials that he is being reassigned to a position at the Department of Defense…

His dismissal is being attributed to the shrinking of the foreign policy bureaucracy and downsizing staff.
However, many see it for what it clearly is—retaliation. Trump demands loyalty from his aides and has previously dismissed many officials for things he considered to be a betrayal.
Trump committed 3 acts of retaliation on the first day after Senate Republicans acquit him:
1. Treasury sends Hunter Biden info to GOP
2. DHS suspends NY residents from global entry
3. Alexander Vindman to leave NSC https://t.co/8Nl8RLzFVj

When asked about Vindman’s transition, all Trump said was, “Well, I’m not happy with him.”
The plan to dismiss Vindman is especially questionable, as the Washington Post says, Vindman was already planning to leave early, but it seems Trump wants to fire him before he can quit.
In fact, the White House seems to be “downsizing” anyone who testifies against Trump.
