In a shocking new poll, Trump’s approval rating has slipped to a new career low with Republicans—only 74 %!
His overall approval rating is a dismal 38% which is the low level it has been hovering near in recent weeks. Yet, the sharp drop among his Republican base is very noteworthy.
In July, he was polling at 87% with Republicans.
Americans are pretty evenly split on whether Congress should be impeaching the President with 49% for and 47% against the move. Although that is still a higher pro-impeachment number than Clinton had back in 1998. Only 27% were pro-impeachment at that time.
When it comes to how the people feel about his conduct, there is a general consensus that he acted inappropriately:
- 55% say he did “something wrong”
- 47% say he did something “seriously wrong”
- 35% think he didn’t do anything wrong
- 10% aren’t sure if he did anything wrong
Another topic that Americans seem to be evenly split on is whether Trump is using his time as president for personal gain. The half that thinks he is trying to profit also back kicking him out of office at 81%.
There are definite trends among certain demographics. For instance, women support impeachment at 56% and city-dwellers are also on board much more than their rural counterparts.
Trump is losing ground everywhere now, even with his Republican base.
