Burger King has just rolled out their Impossible Whopper—with a plant-based substitute for the usual meat patty.
Growing up with meat as a basic at the family dinner table, I was dubious about a plant taking its place and tasting anything remotely like it.
But one bite of the Impossible Whopper changed my mind. It really did taste like the original Whopper.
The benefits? I knew I was eating something healthier than the original and helping the environment.
But if you’re on a diet, you may want to forgo the mayo and the bun. According to Prevention, the veggie patty is 240 calories. But if you add the rest of the goodies, including mayo and the bun, you’re at a whopping 630 calories, with 2 ½ times the fat grams.
You may want to skip those tantalizing fries too.
