Cristina Tcheyan left her job at Google to take care of her young kids, but she didn’t leave quietly. Instead the tech sent a boatload of research to Google’s CEO and head of HR about how they could do things differently to support working parents.
On-site child care is one of the most important changes companies can make, says Tcheyan. But that alone isn’t enough. “It has to be in…combination with paid family leave and…flexibility at work.”
Smaller companies, she says have “really good success” with that. It allows the companies to keep women and maintain “a gender diversity ratio of more like 50/50.”
Such diverse teams, Tcheyan claims, are good for the company and good for its clients.Back To Front Page
