New Twitter hero: #Greenshirtguy’s laughter over political circus captures 4 million

Alex Kack, a field organizer for People’s Defense Initiative in Arizona, has gained the attention and hearts of a nation tired of political circuses.

The 28-year-old showed up at a routine City Council meeting in Tucson and burst into spontaneous, hysterical laughter at the antics of two vehement Trump supporters.

That laughter, posted by Nick VinZant on Twitter, turned Alex from an unknown overnight into the famous “Green Shirt Guy” now beloved by a growing social media audience.

In a later interview with VinZant, Kack stated, “The majority of this country…understands that the loudest voices happening right now are kinda ridiculous. And I think the laughter is resonating because that’s how people feel right now.”

Kack had showed up to attend a City Council vote for the Sanctuary City community-led initiative, Tucson Families Free & Together.
