Montana governor Steve Bullock, a Democratic presidential hopeful, says that battling “dark money”—a key to addressing climate change and gun violence—has been the fight of his career.

He’s already cracked down on dark money in his own state, signing a bipartisan bill in 2015 that requires anonymous “dark money groups” to reveal funds given to state-wide races.

Bullock claims dark money isn’t a “fringe issue.” Its corrupt influence influences everything it touches—including climate change, gun violence, and economic inequality.
